The Cairns & Atherton Tablelands region is rich in quality farm fresh fruit and vegetable and unique, hand crafted arts and craft markets.

 

Every week you can find a market somewhere that will be offering up the market goodies you are looking for. From fresh local produce to a variety of unique gifts whether they are handmade, upcycled, recycled or repurposed itmes. You can also find at most markets delicious local food and coffee vendors plus great family entertainment.

 

A day out to one of these fantastic local markets is always sure to be a fun filled and a gastronomical experience!

Every Week:

Rusty’s Markets

Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Rusty’s has grown into a bustling three-day event. Renown for its carnival atmosphere and colourful stallholders, Rusty’s boasts over 180 stalls featuring exotic fruit, vegetables, and flowers, sumptuous delicatessens with fresh breads, diary, and seafood, a host of international food and beverage stalls, an abundance of bric-a-brac and specialty products including clothing, jewellery, coffee, and chocolate … and so much more!

Night Markets & Food Court

Open Daily from 4.30pm.

The Night Markets offer a fascinating and diverse array of markets to satisfy every need, from art and craft to fashion , fresh produce, gifts and knick knacks. They are a great place to pick up souvenirs, artworks, trinkets and fresh local produce. They are also a splendid place to indulge in unique flavours from all around.

Cairns Makers Market at DFO

Held every Saturday from 9am to 5pm

At the Cairns Makers Markets at DFO you can browse through some of the best locally handmade products from around 38 different, truly local artists, makers and bakers. Located inside DFO Cairns these markets are weatherproof and nicely airconditioned. Get along to these markets and support local.

 

 

Kuranda Original Rainforest Market

Open Wednesday to Sunday / Open Mondays for Specialty Shops and on School & Public Holidays.

Unique, Diverse, Deeply Immersed in Local Arts, Cuisine, Culture, History. Strong eco-conscious ethic with organic, recycled, natural, holistic and remedial products available. Featuring tropical gardens to walk through and gourmet regional fare using the freshest of local produce and ingredients. Contemporary arts, great clothing, jewelry, homemade food products and even a mini golf course.

 

Kuranda Heritage Markets

Open Wednesday to Sunday / Check regarding trading times for School & Public Holidays.

With traditional market stalls retailing souvenir’s, arts and crafts and fashion items made in the local region the market’s also feature many handcrafted Aboriginal items. Set in the picturesque natural rainforest the open plan designed these markets also have a highly acclaimed licensed restaurant called Frogs where you can stop for an a la carte meal or just a coffee.

 

Monthly Markets:

Gordonvale Cottage Markets

1st Saturday of the Month (February to December)

The Gordonvale Markets are a community markets convened by the local Gordonvale Scout Group. Weather permitting, most months there are over 120 stalls present. With the Stallholders coming from as far away as Tully, Innisfail, Mareeba and Atherton. Joining together with stallholders from Gordonvale, Edmonton and the surrounding Cairns and local area. The markets have a happy vibe, often with live music, smiling faces, and an enjoyable atmosphere.

 

Koah Monthly Markets

1st Saturday of the Month (March to December)

The Koah Monthly markets is a Grass Roots Community Market, bursting with goodness, supporting local goods and services, fresh food abundance, skills & creative arts, within the laid back vibe and entertainment of live music, workshops & markets stalls! Locally grown produce, honey, soaps, cottage crafts, treats and treasures.

 

Atherton Markets

1st Saturday of the Month

The Atherton Markets are held in the grounds of the Our Saviour Lutheran Church (previously held at Platypus Park) and are your place to source fresh local produce, crafts, plants, homemade goodies and more!

 

 

Palm Cove Markets

1st Sunday of the Month (April to December – except September)

The 130+ stalls stretch lazily along Williams Esplanade under the shade of palm and ancient paperbark trees in full view of the spectacular beach side scenery. With a focus on sustainable local, quality handmade products, entertainment for the kiddies, busking, local arts & crafts, gifts & souvenirs, plants & produce, massage, wellness and yummy snacks. Palm Cove Markets has earned a reputation for being one of FNQ’s premier community markets and is complimented by fantastic local restaurants and bars – a very relaxed FNQ vibe!

Tolga Markets

1st Sunday of the Month

The Tolga Markets offers loads of fresh local produce, crafts, plants, homemade goodies and more! Enjoy the wonderful Country Markets and pick up the FRESHEST fruit & Veg on the Tablelands and browse through the quirky 2nd Hand and Vintage stalls.

 

 

Mareeba Markets

2nd and 5th Saturday of the Month

The Mareeba Markets are held at the Mareeba Turf Club at Mareeba Race Course with up to 180 stalls showcasing locally grown produce, quality handmade products, food, drinks and much more.

 

Mareeba Bake Make Grow Markets

2nd and 5th Saturday of the Month

The Bake Make and Grow Market was conceived by the Mareeba Art Society in conjunction with the Mareeba Historical Society as a fundraising event. The market is a platform for vendors to showcase their creations while sharing insight to their items that were baked, made or grown locally.

 

Mt Sheridan Plaza Community Markets

2nd Sunday of the Month (March to December)

These Community Markets are a celebration of the community and local producers, growers, and artists all under one roof. Peruse the stalls to find a diverse and unique range of quality handmade artworks, antiques, plants, pottery, hats, bric-a-brac, clothing, books, bags, toys, jewellery, candles, soaps, beauty, alternative products and free family fun and entertainment.

Holloways Beach Markets

DUE TO THE FLOOD DAMAGE TO THE FORESHORE THESE MARKETS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED 

2nd Sunday of the Month (March to December)

Boasting over 140 stalls offering a diverse range of locally-crafted and sourced products, their vibrant and picturesque markets take place on the stunning Holloways Beach. A great place to meet up with friends, relax and just enjoy.

 

Atherton Indoor Markets

2nd Sunday of the Month

The Atherton Indoor Markets are hosted by the Lions Club of Atherton at the Merriland Hall, Atherton Showgrounds with fresh fruit and vegetables / plants / arts and crafts / bric a brac / jewellery / gemstones /coins / stamps / woodwork / books and much more.

Archer Creek Markets 

2nd Sunday of the Month

The Ravenshoe & District Lions Club Inc. run a market at Archer Creek Rest Area on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 6.00am to midday.

 

 

Clifton Beach Markets

3rd Saturday of the Month (February to December)

The Clifton Beach Markets are held in air-conditioned comfort inside the Clifton Village Shopping Centre with a variety of stall holders including: Jewellery / Candles / Health & Beauty Products / Dog Treats & Accessories / Artwork / Kokedamas & Plants / Crystals / Driftwood Creations / Hemp Products / Clothing & Bags / Home Security / Art & Craft, Macrame, Cards, Laser Cut Gifts / Lots of Unique Local Handmade Gifts / Food.

 

Malanda Markets

3rd Saturday of the Month

The Malanda Markets is a community market run by the Lions Club of Malanda at the Malanda Showgrounds. These markets are very popular for fresh local produce, crafts, homemade goodies and more!

 

The Pier Markets

3rd Sunday of the Month 

The Pier’s markets are back and tastier, craftier and bubblier than ever! They’ve reached out to our talented local community to offer you a monthly market full of fun and finds.

 

 

Wondecla Markets

3rd Sunday of the Month

The Wondecla Markets are held at the Wondecla Showgrounds (opposite the Roadhouse) where you will find fruit, vegetables, home made items, cakes, jams, leatherwork, plants and more. Great atmosphere, beautiful craft work and fresh produce!

 

Yungaburra Markets

4th Saturday of the Month (3rd Sunday in December only)

The Yungaburra Markets provide a relaxed family atmosphere and has the philosophy of fostering the value of buying local. Fresh local produce, gifts, clothing, toys, plants, food, coffee & teas, timber goods, homewares, hats, clothing, artworks, books, pottery, garden art & knick – knacks, vintage & modern jewellery, health products & treatments…… there’s something for everyone!

Tanks Markets

Last Sunday of the Month (April to November – excluding August)

Tanks Markets are a free family fun day where you are invited to wander the Tanks Markets leafy promenade, explore the site and take in the full complement of stallholders offering a blend of quality local art, craft, produce, vintage clothing, collectables and local natural health products. Plus, enjoy local musicians, food and refreshments.

 

 

Bi-Monthly Markets:

 

Redlynch Twilight Markets

On a Friday Evening (April to December) 

The Redlynch Twilight Markets are held at Xavier Herbert Park in Redlynch Valley in the evening and have been very popular over the years, there is general bric-a-brac, hobbies, some great artworks, coffee and food vendors and some local fundraising activities by local community groups.

 

 

Between Cairns  and the Atherton Tablelands there really is a market to suit everybody every weekend!
