Cooktown & Cape York Expo 2021: The Rising Tide – Reconciliation Rocks Festival & Concert

Event by Cooktown & Cape York Expo 2021.

 

Showcasing some of the region’s best known Indigenous and non-Indigenous performing artists across the weekend alongside art, culture, markets, language workshops, exhibitions, storytelling and tours.

 

A “Back in Time” showcase will include bush tucker tasting, weaving, regional Indigenous art exhibitions and workshops.

 

There will be a live performance and re-enactment of the landing of Captain Cook and his interactions with the Guugu Yimithirr bama.

Reconciliation Rocks Concert:

The Reconciliation Rocks Festival headline artists are on Saturday 12 June from 6.00pm to 10.30pm.

 

Performing on the Main Stage at Festival Village in Lions Park.

 

Free concert featuring local Cape York rock band, Black Image, blues and roots duo, Busby Marou, country music superstar, Troy Cassar-Daley and Cape York’s king of rap, Mau Power.

 

This is a non-ticketed event. No pre-registration is required. Due to COVID requirements, patrons will be requested to leave their contact tracing details with the event organiser on the day of the event.
