OFFICIAL OPENING: ‘Exhibition Ready’ Solo Exhibitions: Jinneecka Don & Cecelia Slade at UMI Arts
This September, UMI Arts is proud to present two inaugural solo exhibitions by our two 2024 ‘Exhibitions Ready’ Program Graduates, JINNEECKA DON and CECELIA SLADE.
Since 2023, these two member artists have been thoughtfully building a body of work exploring their own memories and experiences, which we will unveil this September.
Jinneecka Don: “My artwork is bright and colourful, and it makes me feel happy. I always incorporate many animals with acrylic and dots to tell the story. Working on medium-sized canvases in my small studio and find a sense of achievement in completing each piece.”
Slade: ‘This series of works focuses on being at the beach, playing in the shallows, and discovering life in rockpools. They are soft, calm pieces that evoke a sense of serenity…. These pieces will speak to many, but those who love the ocean will appreciate it.”
