Spider Dioramas with Keelie Nicholls, ages 4-9 at Cairns Art Gallery
Join this workshop to create a cute diorama home for a little spider of your own! This will involve simple hand and eye coordination to assemble precut paper and corflute spacers, all prepared to avoid the need to use any sharp tools. Bring your spider and its new home to life with oil pastels; a wonderful way to reflect the colours found in our current exhibition, Maria Fernanda Cordoso’s Spiders of Paradise.
In Spiders of Paradise, Maria Fernanda Cardoso presents the tiny 5mm Maratus jumping spider in a series of large-scale photographs, demonstrating their vibrant and exquisite multi-coloured patterns. These portraits allow a close-up perspective of their features and show their charming side!
All materials are provided, and students can be dropped off to enjoy this activity under the supervision of our qualified teachers.
