Ivana Patalano is a local girl who was born and schooled in Cairns and whose love for this region led her into tourism and eventually purchasing her own Visitor Information Centre back in 2000.

 

Ivana enjoys promoting our destination and being able to assist our visitors with local knowledge so they too can enjoy where we live. She said, “In other words, I love telling people where to go”.

 

In 2007 Ivana joined the Skal International Cairns Club where she met many like minded tourism business owners and managers. She enjoys the comradery that they share with a focus on ‘Doing Business Amongst Friends’.

 

Skal International is a professional organisation that promotes Global Tourism and friendship and earlier this year (2022) Ivana was elected as the President of Skal International Australia.

Answer: Dundees on the Waterfront in Cairns and Vivo’s Palm Cove.

 

Question 2: What’s your favourite local activity to do in TNQ? eg. Jet Boating on Bad Fishy etc.

Answer: Heading out on the water to the Great Barrier Reef and relaxing on Vlassoff Cay.

 

Question 3: Where is your favourite local place for a ‘staycation’?

Answer: I love heading up to Port Douglas for a mini break.

 

Question 4: Where is your favourite local place to shop?

Answer: That depends on what I’m shopping for. Jonsson’s Farm Market for local produce. Lullabelle’s for clothing and Port Douglas Markets for everything!

 

Question 5: Thinking of local professional businesses, where have you received exceptional service? eg. accountant, car sales, doctor, hairdresser, beauty etc.

Answer: Cardzilla on Anderson Street the staff and service are amazing.
