Tropical Steampunk Upcycled – By Create More at the Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre.   During June to August, the Cairns public were invited to come and create artworks using reclaimed materials as part of the 2020 Tropical Steampunk Upcycled workshops.   Cairns Regional Council Community Events generously funded six workshops with three of Cairns’ favourite artists; Hayley Gillespie, India Collins and Adrian Wolf. Roland Nancarrow – Maldives Artworks Exhbition at the Tanks Arts Centre.   The Paintings, watercolours and sculptures in this collection were completed in response to three artist’s residencies on three resort islands in the Maldives. Cairns based artist, Roland Nancarrow spent seven weeks on Reethi Rah in 2016, three months on Niyama Private Islands in 2017 and another three months on Atmosphere Kanifushi in 2018.   Most of the paintings and watercolours were completed on the islands whilst the sculptures…
